From Greg Evans:

I made reservations at the Flaming Gorge Resort last month, so we are set for our THIRD annual RMFC Green River Trip from JAN 25- 28.

Details will be similar to last year. We leave early on Friday in carpools arranged by where you live. For those of you who can't make Friday, we will also arrange a Saturday carpool. Same goes for coming home, Sunday for some and Monday for others. As is our custom, leaving early and coming home late insures the most fishing on the travel days. The 6 1/2 hour drive starts about 3 am, breakfast at Cruel Jacks off I-80 about 8am, and down to the River. We leave for home about 1 pm and eat dinner on the road.

Lodging depends on the numbers going and your desire for comfort. We have three condos reserved thus far. We got the big condo this year that sleeps 6, so we can congregate there. If you want to go but want to rent your own room, Flaming Gorge Lodge is at 435 - 889 - 3773. Cost depend's on people going, but I would figure about $120 or so for gas and lodging splits. Usually drivers don't pay gas. We'll get some breakfast food, but lunch is on your own on the river and dinner is at the Flaming Gorge Resort Diner, separate checks.

Fishing is usually good in the picturesque canyon this time of year. Over the years, we have seen highs of 11 degrees and all midge fishing or sunny days in the 40's with pods of fish rising to small dries. It's always beautiful, usually cold, and you can always find fish to cast to along the trail on "A" section. I would suggest www.fishgreenriver.com for a backgroud River overview and somewhat up to date fishing reports and fly selection.

Licences. These are a pain to get at the Fly Shop in Dutch John, since they have to do it over the internet same as you. PLEASE get your license over the internet early www.wildlife.utah.gov to save you and your buddies some time and frustration.

Okay, ready to go? Let me know as soon as possible by replying to ME ONLY on this email address (evansgs@comcast.net). Once I get a list of names, I will send out more info just to those interested. Or, call me 481 -6728. I look forward to another great trip!
